Backbone State Park - Strawberry Point, Backbone State Park is Iowa's oldest state park, dedicated in 1919. Located in the valley of the Maquoketa River, it is about three miles south of Strawberry Point in Delaware County. Backbone Lake Dam, a relatively low dam built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, creates Backbone Lake. The Civilian Conservation Corps constructed a majority of trails and buildings which make up the park.

Cedar Rock State Park - Quasqueton, The Lowell Walter Residence, which is also referred to as Cedar Rock, is a Frank Lloyd Wright designed Usonian home that was constructed in Quasqueton, Iowa in 1950. Following Walter's death in 1981, the home was donated to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and was opened to the public for tours.

McElroy Auditorium - Waterloo, McElroy Auditorium is a 5,155-seat multipurpose arena that is situated in Waterloo, Iowa. The original auditorium was built in 1919 but was replaced by the current auditorium which was built in 1936. Most arenas of McElroy's capacity are today built with higher ceilings but McElroy's ceiling is only 26 feet from the 20,000-square-foot arena floor. The arena contains 234 box seats and a 4,000-square-foot lobby.
