Backbone State Park - Strawberry Point, Backbone State Park is Iowa's oldest state park, dedicated in 1919. Located in the valley of the Maquoketa River, it is about three miles south of Strawberry Point in Delaware County. Backbone Lake Dam, a relatively low dam built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, creates Backbone Lake. The Civilian Conservation Corps constructed a majority of trails and buildings which make up the park.

Brucemore - Cedar Rapids, Brucemore, a park-like, 26-acre estate in the heart of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is the site of a Queen Anne-style mansion, formal gardens, a children’s garden, night garden, pond, orchard, and woodland. Built between 1884 and 1886 by Caroline Sinclair, widow of pioneer industrialist T.M. Sinclair, Brucemore has been home to three prominent families who used the estate as a center for culture and the arts. Brucemore, whose name alludes to the Scottish moors of the second owner's ancestral home, is Iowa's only National Trust Historic Site and is preserved by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in co-stewardship with Brucemore, Inc.

Cedar Rock State Park - Quasqueton, The Lowell Walter Residence, which is also referred to as Cedar Rock, is a Frank Lloyd Wright designed Usonian home that was constructed in Quasqueton, Iowa in 1950. Following Walter's death in 1981, the home was donated to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and was opened to the public for tours.

Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum - Buffalo, The Karpeles Manuscript Library is the world’s largest private collection of original manuscripts and documents. The library was founded in 1983 by California real estate magnates, David and Marsha Karpeles, with the goal of stimulating interest in learning, especially in children. McElroy Auditorium - Waterloo, McElroy Auditorium is a 5,155-seat multipurpose arena that is situated in Waterloo, Iowa. The original auditorium was built in 1919 but was replaced by the current auditorium which was built in 1936. Most arenas of McElroy's capacity are today built with higher ceilings but McElroy's ceiling is only 26 feet from the 20,000-square-foot arena floor. The arena contains 234 box seats and a 4,000-square-foot lobby.
