Hale Pa'i - Lahaina, Lahainaluna High School is a grade 9-12 school located in Lahaina, Hawaii. It is the oldest post-secondary school west of the Rocky Mountains. It was founded in 1831 as a Protestant missionary school, originally named Lahainaluna Seminary. The early missionaries who arrived in Lahaina in 1823 explained to the Hawaiian Royalty the importance of an educational institution. A number of the pioneers are buried in a small grave yard.

Haleakala National Park - Haleakala National Park is a United States national park that can be found on the island of Maui in the state of Hawaii. The park covers an area of 30,183 acres, of which 24,719 acres is a wilderness area. In 2000 the name was changed by the Hawaiian National Park Language Correction Act of 2000 observing the Hawaiian spelling.

Kaanapali Beach - , Kaanapali, Kaanapali is a town in Maui County, Hawaii. The population was 1,375 at the 2000 census. The master-planned town is located in the Old Hawaii ahupuaa of Hanakaoo, as in the same name of the southern end of Kaanapali Beach's Hanakaoo Canoe Beach.

Kahanu Garden - , National Tropical Botanical Garden, Kahanu Garden is a 294-acre botanical garden that can be found on the Hana Highway near Hana, Maui, Hawaii. It is one of five gardens of the non-profit National Tropical Botanical Garden, the others being McBryde, Allerton, and Limahuli Garden and Preserve on Kauai, and The Kampong in Florida.

Most of the Kia Kaanapali golf course is located east of the main highway which is on an incline that rises up the mountains, so the view is spectacular. We really enjoyed the amazing views of the ocean and the hotels that lined the Kaanapali coast.

There is a walkway that connects several of the hotels along the Kaanapali shore. We walked from the Royal Lahaina Resort and the first place we visited after breakfast was the Marriott Vacation Club in Kaanapali.

There are two pools with no umbrellas at the Royal Lahaina Resort, and unless you are camped beneath some palm trees at the right time of day, you are fully exposed to the sun. This is obviously less than ideal for families with kids.

Our United Airlines flight from LAX to Maui was due to depart at 4:50pm, and we had to make sure we were all packed and in the cab by 2:30pm. Travelling with a baby is stressful enough without having to worry about missing your flight.

The way we prepare for a trip has changed quite a bit with each stage of our son's growth. At first my husband was very discouraged after searching through the Expedia and Travelocity sites. The cheapest round trip airfares were $900 per/person and they weren't even non-stop flights!
