Antietam National Battlefield - , Sharpsburg, Antietam National Battlefield is a National Park Service protected area along Antietam Creek in Sharpsburg, Maryland which commemorates the American Civil War Battle of Antietam that occurred on September 17, 1862. The area, situated on fields among the Appalachian foothills near the Potomac River, features the battlefield site and visitor center, a national military cemetery and a field hospital museum. Today, over 330,000 people visit the park each year.

Bowman House (Boonsboro, Maryland) - , Boonsboro, The Bowman House is a log house in Boonsboro, Maryland, typical of those built in the area in the early 19th century. It and its immediate grounds housed the "Boonsboro Pottery" from 1868, owned by John E. Bowman. The pottery closed by 1908, succumbing to mass-produced materials. The building is now the headquarters of the Boonsboro Historical Society.

Colvin Run Mill - Great Falls, Colvin Run Mill is a museum that is situated in Great Falls, Virginia. Built c. 1813, Colvin Run Mill is the sole surviving operational 19th-century water-powered mill in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, and its restored mechanism is a nationally significant example of automated technologies pioneered in milling and later adopted across American industry.
