Fort Gibson Historic Site - Fort Gibson, Fort Gibson, now located in Oklahoma and designated Fort Gibson Historical Site, guarded the American frontier in Indian Territory from 1824 until 1890. The fort at its inception lay farther west than any other military post in the US of America and formed part of the north–south chain of forts intended to maintain peace on the frontier of the American West and to protect the southwestern border of the Louisiana Purchase.

George M. Murrell Home - Park Hill, The Murrell Home, which is also referred to as the George M. Murrell Home, is a historic home and museum in Park Hill, near Tahlequah, Oklahoma. It was built in 1845, the building starting in 1844, and was most likely constructed least in part by slaves. It is one of only a few antebellum houses that have survived in the Cherokee Nation. The mansion itself was known as Hunter's Home by its first owner George Michael Murrell.
