Fort Hays - Hays, Fort Hays was an important frontier outpost of the United States Army located in Hays, Kansas between 1865 and 1889. Fort Hays was the home of several well-known Indian wars regiments including the Seventh U.S. Cavalry, the Fifth U.S. Infantry, and the Tenth U.S. Cavalry, whose black troopers were better known as buffalo soldiers. The fort was originally located about five miles south of present day Walker, Kansas.

Built in 1960, this Hill City course designed by Ed Herman is open all year. Tee times are accepted by calling the pro shop at 785-421-2868. Gross Memorial Coliseum - Fort Hays State University - Hays, The Gross Memorial Coliseum is a 6,814 seat multi-purpose arena in Hays, Kansas. It was built in 1973. It is the home of the Fort Hays State University Tigers women's volleyball team, as well as the men's and women's basketball teams. It also hosts state championship events for Classes 1A, 2A, and 3A wrestling, 1A and 2A volleyball, and 1A boys' and girls' basketball for the Kansas State High School Activities Association.

Nicodemus National Historic Site - , Nicodemus, Nicodemus National Historic Site, located in Nicodemus, Kansas, preserves, protects and interprets the only remaining western town established by African Americans during the Reconstruction Period following the American Civil War.
