Canal Place - Cumberland, Canal Place is a 58.1-acre park operated by the National Park Service located in Cumberland, Maryland. The park includes the Western Maryland Railway Station, station plaza, a picnic area, a canal boat replica, a pedestrian bridge to George Washington’s Headquarters, picnic area, and the Crescent Lawn Festival Grounds. Future plans for the festival grounds include an Adventure playground and an outdoor recreation facility composed of an ice skating rink, climbing walls and hardscape surface for summer activities.

Deep Creek Lake State Park - Swanton, Deep Creek Lake State Park is a popular vacation area in Garrett County, Maryland in the US. It surrounds a reservoir that was created by the construction of the Deep Creek Dam in 1923 by the Pennsylvania Electric Company on a tributary of the Youghiogheny River. The lake was purchased by the state of Maryland in 2000 and is used for boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, and fishing. There is a state park that borders the lake, where black bears are occasionally seen by visitors.
