Fort St. Jean Baptiste State Historic Site - Natchitoches, Fort St. Jean Baptiste State Historic Site in Natchitoches, Louisiana, is a replica of an original fort settlement; Based on the original fort blueprints, established in 1716 by Sieur Charles Claude Dutisne and company. Natchitoches itself was founded in 1714 by French Canadian Louis Antoine Juchereau de St. Denis as the first permanent European settlement in the territory later known as the Louisiana Purchase.

Kent Plantation House - Alexandria, Kent Plantation House is central Louisiana's oldest standing structure and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and describes plantation life between 1795 and 1855. Dating to 1800, the bousillage Creole house and restored period outbuildings now welcome tourists.

Included in the Cane River Creole National Historical Park, Magnolia Plantation is also a destination on the Louisiana African American Heritage Trail.

Melrose Plantation - , Melrose, Melrose Plantation, which is also referred to as Yucca Plantation, is a National Historic Landmark in Natchitoches Parish in north central Louisiana. The Association for Preservation of Historic Natchitoches owns the plantation and provides guided tours with unlimited photographic opportunities of the main house and its outbuildings. It has one of the oldest buildings of African derivation in the US, and was the first plantation built by and for free blacks.

Northwestern Hills Golf Course - Natchitoches, The Northwestern Hills Golf Course is a 9 hole public golf course in Natchitoches County Louisiana. Built in 1980, this Natchitoches course is open all year - closed on mondays. Tee times are accepted by calling the pro shop at 318-357-3207. Oakland Plantation (Natchez, Louisiana) - Natchitoches, Oakland Plantation was originally known as the Jean Pierre Emmanuel Prud'homme Plantation. It is also known as Bermuda. Declared a National Historic Landmark in 2001, it is part of Cane River Creole National Historical Park near Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Oakwing Golf Club - Alexandria, The Oakwing Golf Club is an 18 hole public golf course in Rapides County Louisiana. Built in 2002, this Alexandria course designed by Jim Lipe is open all year.
