Barthell, Kentucky - Whitley City, Barthell is a former company town in McCreary County, Kentucky. It was established in 1902 and was the first of 18 mining camps to be built by the Stearns Coal and Lumber Company. It now serves as a open-air history museum.

Harland Sanders Cafe and Museum - Corbin, The Harland Sanders Cafe is a historic restaurant located in North Corbin, Kentucky. Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, operated the restaurant from 1940-1956. Sanders also developed the famous KFC secret recipe at the cafe during the 1940s. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 7, 1990.

Historic Rugby - , Rugby, Rugby is an community in Morgan and Scott counties in the U.S. state of Tennessee. Founded in 1880 by English author Thomas Hughes, Rugby was built as an experimental utopian colony. While Hughes's experiment largely failed, a small community lingered at Rugby throughout the 20th century. In the 1960s, residents, friends and descendants of Rugby began restoring the original design and layout of the community, preserving surviving structures and reconstructing others.

Lenoir Museum Cultural Complex - , Norris, Norris Dam State Park is a state park in Anderson County and Campbell County, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. The park is situated along the shores of Norris Lake, an impoundment of the Clinch River created by the completion of Norris Dam in 1936. The park consists of 4,038 acres managed by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. The park also administers the Lenoir Museum Complex, which interprets the area's aboriginal, pioneer, and early 20th-century history.

Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park - London, Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park is a park located just south of London, Kentucky in Laurel County. The park encompasses 896 acres, and includes a section of the Wilderness Road that early settlers used to reach Kentucky. The park is named for Levi Jackson, an early Kentucky pioneer. It is open for year-round recreation including picnicking, camping, hiking and bird-watching.

McCreary County Museum - Stearns, The McCreary County Museum, is housed in the former Stearns Coal and Lumber Company corporate headquarters in Stearns, Kentucky. The museum preserves and displays the area's history from the Indian and pioneer times towards its peak at the height of the coal and lumber industry boom. The exhibits include significant coverage of Appalachian life in McCreary County.
