Spiro Mounds - , Spiro, Spiro Mounds is a very important pre-Columbian Caddoan Mississippian culture archaeological site located in present-day eastern Oklahoma in the US. It is about 7 miles outside of the modern town of Spiro. The prehistoric Spiro people thrived and created a strong religious center and political system.
