The Great State of Rhode Island

The smallest of the 50 states, Rhode Island was one of the original thirteen colonies. It was the first to declare independence from British rule and the last to ratify the Constitution of the United States.

Located in the New England region of the United States, Rhode Island is known as the Ocean State due to several large bays and inlets in the area. It is a state with a rich cultural and architectural heritage, boasting the largest concentration of colonial homes and buildings in the country. Warwick Heritage Trail and Rhode Island Farm Heritage Trail, for example, offer fascinating educational journeys through history.

This small state is a little gem with plenty to see, do and experience. With its many beaches, Rhode Island offers plenty of watersports, fishing and boat tours. There are also nature trails for hiking, biking or bird watching. Its vineyards and wineries produce a variety of wines including Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling and Chardonnay.
