See how the leaves in varying shades of orange, crimson and green reflect on the pond’s tranquil waters like an impressionist painting. Nothing quite competes with the majesty of nature.

All around the Colorado Rocky Mountains, groves of quaking aspen turn a golden yellow in the fall. And when the breeze rustles through the trees, their leaves appear to shimmer in the sunlight like golden silver dollars.  Behold: all that glitters is gold. At least in autumn.

The changing seasons bring hints of winter in the crisp air, while the rich fragrance of sunbaked foliage is a sweet reminder of summer’s end. It’s beautiful.

Such lavish displays fill one with a sense of euphoria.

Whether you go hiking along the Appalachian Trail or take a driving tour of the mountains, New Hampshire is one of the best places to see amazing fall foliage. In some parts, the densely clustered trees look as though they are sheathed in glittering gems: orange carnelian, golden amber, red rubies, emeralds, and a sprinkling of amethysts in the resplendent mix.
