Antietam National Battlefield - , Sharpsburg, Antietam National Battlefield is a National Park Service protected area along Antietam Creek in Sharpsburg, Maryland which commemorates the American Civil War Battle of Antietam that occurred on September 17, 1862. The area, situated on fields among the Appalachian foothills near the Potomac River, features the battlefield site and visitor center, a national military cemetery and a field hospital museum. Bowman House (Boonsboro, Maryland) - , Boonsboro, The Bowman House is a log house in Boonsboro, Maryland, typical of those built in the area in the early 19th century. It and its immediate grounds housed the "Boonsboro Pottery" from 1868, owned by John E. Bowman. The pottery closed by 1908, succumbing to mass-produced materials. The building is now the headquarters of the Boonsboro Historical Society.

Fort Frederick State Park - , Big Pool, Fort Frederick State Park is a Maryland state park surrounding the restored Fort Frederick, a fort from the French and Indian War and American Revolutionary War. Gathland State Park - , Burkittsville, Gathland State Park is a small state park located near Burkittsville, Maryland in the US. The park is composed of the remains of the estate of George Alfred Townsend, a correspondent during the American Civil War who wrote under the pen name "Gath".
