Anne Spencer House - Lynchburg, The Anne Spencer House, in Lynchburg, Virginia in the US was, from 1903 to 1975, the home of Anne Spencer, a poet of the Harlem Renaissance. She was the first Virginian and first African-American to have her poetry included in the Norton Anthology of American Poetry. Not only was Spencer a successful poet, she was also a committed activist for equal rights, and her house also served as a political center of the community.

Appomattox Court House National Historical Park - Appomattox, The Appomattox Court House National Historical Park is a National Historical Park of original and reconstructed nineteenth century buildings. It was signed into law August 3, 1935. The village was made a national monument in 1940 and a national historical park in 1954. It is located three miles east of Appomattox, Virginia, the location of the Appomattox Station and the "new" Appomattox Court House. It is in the center of the state about 25 miles east of Lynchburg, Virginia.

Ash Lawn-Highland - Charlottesville, Ash Lawn–Highland, located near Charlottesville, Virginia in the US, and adjacent to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, was the estate of James Monroe, fifth President of the United States. Purchased in 1793, Monroe and his family permanently settled on the property in 1799 and lived at Ash Lawn–Highland for twenty-four years. Personal debt forced Monroe to sell the plantation in 1825. Before and after selling Highland, Monroe spent much of his time living at Oak Hill.

Cyrus McCormick Farm - Steeles Tavern, The Cyrus McCormick Farm and Workshop is on the family farm of inventor Cyrus Hall McCormick known as Walnut Grove. Cyrus Hall McCormick improved and patented the mechanical reaper, which eventually led to the creation of the combine harvester. The farm is near Steele's Tavern, Virginia and Raphine, Virginia, close to the northern border of Rockbridge County, Virginia and Augusta County, Virginia, and is currently a museum run by the Virginia Agricultural Experimental Station of Virginia Tech.
