Pearl S. Buck Birthplace - , Hillsboro, The Pearl S. Buck Birthplace is a historic home in Hillsboro, West Virginia where American writer Pearl S. Buck was born. The home now serves as a museum offering guided tours. The site also includes a carpentry shop and barn with over 100 historic farm and woodworking tools, and the log home of Buck's father's family, the Sydenstrickers, which was moved from Greenbrier County.

Stonewall Jackson House - Lexington, The Stonewall Jackson House is a 19th century house located at 8 East Washington Street in Lexington, Virginia. Constructed in 1802, by Cornelius Dorman. Dr. Archibald Graham sold it to Jackson on November 4, 1858, for $3000.

The Blue Ridge Parkway traverses several states and can take days to explore, our family road trip was a loop in Virginia from Roanoke to Abingdon and back again.

We left New Jersey where all three of our sons were born and raised heading West. Our road trip was through Newark Delaware, West Virginia, Natural Bridge, Baltimore - our goal was to reach Roanoke.
