Badlands National Park - Badlands National Park, in southwest South Dakota preserves 244,000 acres of sharply eroded buttes, pinnacles, and spires blended with the largest protected mixed grass prairie in the US.

Minuteman Missile National Historic Site - , Jackson County, Minuteman Missile National Historic Site was established in 1999 to illustrate the history and significance of the Cold War, the arms race, and intercontinental ballistic missile development. The National Historic Site preserves one of the last remaining Minuteman II ICBM systems in the US.
