Fort Frederick State Park - , Big Pool, Fort Frederick State Park is a Maryland state park surrounding the restored Fort Frederick, a fort from the French and Indian War and American Revolutionary War. The park is south of the town of Big Pool on the Potomac River; the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal runs through the park grounds. The fort was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1973.

Fulton County Historical Society Museum - Mcconnellsburg, The Fulton House is a prominent Georgian-influenced stone tavern built circa 1793 and located on Lincoln Way East in Mcconnellsburg, Pennsylvania, this inn once boarded governors and four presidents and was originally known as The Union Hotel. The building is now restored following a devastating 1944 fire that destroyed much of the 18th century interior of the original structure. The 1820 east end addition was not affected by the fire.

Gathland State Park - , Burkittsville, Gathland State Park is a small state park located near Burkittsville, Maryland in the US. The park is composed of the remains of the estate of George Alfred Townsend, a correspondent during the American Civil War who wrote under the pen name "Gath". Several buildings remain on the estate, including the War Correspondents Memorial Arch, and the Appalachian trail passes through the grounds.

Hager House (Hagerstown, Maryland) - , Hagerstown, The Hager House is a two-story stone house in Hagerstown, Maryland that dates to circa 1740. The house was built by Jonathan Hager, a German immigrant from Westphalia, who founded Hagerstown. The basement contains two spring-fed pools of water, providing a secure water source. Hager sold the property, then known as Hager's Fancy to Jacob Rohrer. The house remained in the Rohrer family until 1944, when it was acquired by the Washington County Historical Society.

Kennedy Farm - , Sharpsburg, The Kennedy Farm is an American landmark where John Brown planned and began his raid on Harpers Ferry, West Virginia in 1859. Also known as John Brown's Headquarters and Kennedy Farmhouse, the log, stone and brick building has retained its historical integrity and is essentially the same as it was in 1859. It was designated a National Historic Landmark on November 7, 1973.

Monocacy National Battlefield - Frederick, Monocacy National Battlefield is a unit of the National Park Service, the site of the Battle of Monocacy Junction in the American Civil War fought on July 9, 1864. The battlefield straddles the Monocacy River southwest of the city of Frederick, Maryland. The battle, labeled "The Battle That Saved Washington," was one of the last the Confederates would carry out in Union territory. The two opposing leaders were General Jubal Early, fighting for the South, and General Lew Wallace, fighting for the North.
