Bellamy Mansion - Wilmington, The Bellamy Mansion, located in historic downtown Wilmington, North Carolina, was built between 1858 and 1861. Located on Market Street in the heart of downtown Wilmington, this spectacular mansion is one of North Carolina’s finest examples of historic architecture. Designed with Greek Revival and Italianate styling, this twenty-two room house was constructed with the labor of both enslaved skilled carpenters, and local, freed black artisans.

Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson State Historic Site - , Smithville Township, , , , Brunswick County, Fort Anderson was an early fort in the lower Cape Fear Region of North Carolina, at Brunswick Town in Brunswick County. It was used as a Confederate Fort during the American Civil War. The fort was pivotal in protecting the Cape Fear River inlets and Wilmington upstream. Earthen batteries surround the fort as well as cannons. The Confederacy decided to build forts around Cape Fear River to protect the port of Wilmington from the Union blockade.

Carolina Beach - Carolina Beach, Carolina Beach is a town in New Hanover County, North Carolina. The population was 4,701 at the 2000 census. It is located on part of the Wilmington metropolitan area. The community of Wilmington Beach was annexed by the town in 2000.

Caswell Beach - , Caswell Beach, Caswell Beach is a town that can be found on the eastern part of Oak Island in Brunswick County, North Carolina, and is adjacent to the North Carolina Baptist Assembly and the island's United States Coast Guard station. It was incorporated as a town in 1975. The population was 370 at the 2000 census. The Oak Island Lighthouse towers over the town, which now owns the structure. The Oak Island Golf Club, featuring an eighteen hole course designed by George Cobb, is the sole business located in the town.

Fort Fisher State Historic Site - Wilmington, Fort Fisher was a Confederate fort during the American Civil War. It protected the vital trading routes of the port at Wilmington, North Carolina, from 1861 until its capture by the Union in 1865. The fort was located on one of Cape Fear River's two outlets to the Atlantic Ocean on what was then known as Federal Point and today is known as Pleasure Island. Because of the roughness of the seas there, it was known as the Southern Gibraltar.
