Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center - Gardnerville, Douglas County High School was the high school serving Douglas County, Nevada from 1915 the mid 1950s when it became a middle school. In 1988 the building was retired from educational uses. Designed by prolific Nevada architect Frederic Joseph DeLongchamps, it serves today as both the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center and a middle school and is listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places.

Nevada State Capitol - Carson City, The Nevada State Capitol is the capitol building of the U.S. state of Nevada. It is located in the state capital of Carson City at 101 North Carson Street. The building was constructed in the Neoclassical Italianate style between 1869 and 1871. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is also Nevada Historical Marker number 25

Nevada State Railroad Museum - Carson City, The Nevada State Railroad Museum, located in Carson City, Nevada, preserves the railroad heritage of Nevada, including locomotives and cars of the famous Virginia and Truckee Railroad. Ormsby House - Carson City, The Ormsby House is a hotel/casino in Carson City, Nevada. Originally opened in 1971, it closed in 2000 for extensive renovations. It was planned to reopen on July 4, 2001, but the opening date has been pushed back many times due to construction delays, and management changes.
