Eagle Island (Casco Bay, Maine) - , Eagle Island, , , , , , , Casco Bay, Eagle Island is a State Historic Site in the US state of Maine. It is an island in Casco Bay, Maine and is preserved because it is the site of the retirement home of Admiral Robert Peary, the polar explorer. Peary bought the island in 1881 and retired there in 1911, after he had achieved fame and glory with his expedition to the North Pole. His family continued to live in the house he built there, but donated the island to the people of Maine in 1955.

Fort Western - Augusta, Fort Western was a colonial outpost at the head of navigation on the Kennebec River at modern Augusta, Maine. It was built in 1754 by a Boston land company to promote settlement in the area. The fort was a log palisade with blockhouses which protected a store and warehouse. It was never directly attacked. From a high elevation a large rectangular enclosure commanded the river for more than a mile. Blockhouses 24 feet square and watch-boxes 12 feet square guarded opposite corners, and within stood a two-story main house 100 feet by 32 feet.

Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum - Brunswick, The Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum was the home of American Civil War general, Bowdoin College president, and Maine governor Joshua L. Chamberlain for over 50 years. Located at the corner of Maine and Potter Streets in Brunswick, Maine, the house is now open to the public and is in the process of being restored as it was when Chamberlain lived there.

Major Reuben Colburn House - , Pittston, The Major Reuben Colburn House was the home of Reuben Colburn, a patriot and shipbuilder of Pittston, Maine from 1765 to 1818. Colburn assisted George Washington and Benedict Arnold in the planning and provisioning of the invasion of Canada. Arnold's expedition to seize Quebec from the British Army in 1775 during the American Revolutionary War began here.

Nickels-Sortwell House - Wiscasset, The Nickels-Sortwell House, that can be found on the main street of Wiscasset, Maine in the US, was built in 1807 by Captain William Nickels, a ship owner and trader. The style and age of the building reflect "a period when shipbuilding and the maritime trade brought prosperity and sophisticated tastes to this riverside community."

Old Post Office (Liberty, Maine) - Liberty, The Old Post Office, which is also referred to as the Old Octagonal Post Office, was built in 1870 and is an historic octagon-shaped former U.S. post office building located on Main Street in Liberty, Maine. On June 19, 1973, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The town of Liberty boasts that the building is "the only octagonal post office in the US". The building, which "has all its original equipment" is now the home of the Liberty Historical Society, which opens it to the public on Saturdays during the summer.
