Jackson House - , Portsmouth, The Richard Jackson House in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in the US, is the oldest surviving wood frame house in New Hampshire or Maine. This National Historic Landmark was built in 1664 by Richard Jackson, a woodworker, farmer, and mariner, on his family's 25-acre plot. Jackson's house resembles English post-medieval prototypes, but is notably American in its extravagant use of wood. Succeeding generations added a lean-to and more rooms to the east to accommodate several different family groups sharing the property at once.

John Paul Jones House - , Portsmouth, John Paul Jones House was the home of Captain Gregory Purcell and his wife in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. They had it built in 1758 and Purcell lived there until his death in 1776. The widow Purcell then took in boarders. American naval hero John Paul Jones rented a room during 1781-1782 while supervising construction of the ship America. This is the only surviving building known to have been associated with John Paul Jones' life.

Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum - Brunswick, The Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum was the home of American Civil War general, Bowdoin College president, and Maine governor Joshua L. Chamberlain for over 50 years. Located at the corner of Maine and Potter Streets in Brunswick, Maine, the house is now open to the public and is in the process of being restored as it was when Chamberlain lived there.

The museum was founded in 1993 and contains a collection of rolling stock and artifacts from the 2 ft (610 mm) gauge narrow gauge railroads that ran in the state of Maine.

Maine State Building - Poland, The Maine State Building was originally at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Designed by Chicago architect Charles Sumner Frost, a Lewiston, Maine native and MIT graduate, the building was constructed of granite with a slate roof. All the materials were from Maine and crafted by craftsmen and companies from Maine. At the fair, the building was filled with displays about the State of Maine.

Marrett House - Standish, Marrett House is a historic home in Standish, Maine in the US, now owned and operated as a house museum by Historic New England. In 1796, as a young man and recent graduate from Harvard University, Daniel Marrett moved to Standish to become the town parson. The house he purchased reflected his status as the community's leading citizen.
