Camp Moore - Tangipahoa, Camp Moore, north of the Village of Tangipahoa near Kentwood, Louisiana, was a Confederate training base and principal base of operations in eastern Louisiana and southwestern Mississippi. The base was named for Louisiana Governor Thomas Overton Moore and operated from May 1861 to 1864 during the American Civil War. The location of the camp was chosen due to its relatively high ground elevation, abundance of fresh drinking water, and being adjacent to the then New Orleans, Jackson & Great Northern Railroad line.

Crosby Arboretum - , Mississippi State University, The Crosby Arboretum is a botanical garden that is situated in Picayune, Mississippi in the US, and affiliated with the Mississippi State University. It contains 64 acres in its interpretive center, plus over 700 acres in seven additional natural areas, sheltering over 300 species of indigenous trees and shrubs.

Fairview-Riverside State Park - Madisonville, Fairview-Riverside State Park is a tourist attraction two miles east of Madisonville, Louisiana. Its 99 acres is set along the banks of the Tchefuncte River. Within the park is the Otis House Museum, built during the 1830's, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. Visitors go to Fairview-Riverside to camp, and for water sports and fishing. The park has 100 campsites. The park has a short nature trail and boardwalk which reveals forested wetlands along the Tchefuncte River.
