Evangeline Downs - Opelousas, Evangeline Downs is an American race track and casino that is situated in St. Landry Parish, just east of Opelousas, Louisiana. With a seven furlong oval track, the facility provides close to 1,000 horse stalls for Thoroughbred flat racing and American Quarter Horse racing. The original track opened on April 28, 1966 at Carencro, Louisiana and remained there until 2005 when it moved to Opelousas, Louisiana as part of new racino operation.

Farm Golf Club, The - Carencro, The Farm Golf Club is an 18 hole public golf course in Lafayette County Louisiana. Built in 2003, this Carencro course designed by Jeffery D. Blume is open all year. Tee times are accepted up to 365 days in advance and the pro shop phone number for reservations is 337-886-2227. The golf course dress code is as follows: No denim, collared shirt and bermuda shorts required.

Louisiana State Penitentiary Museum - Angola, The Louisiana State Penitentiary is a prison farm in Louisiana operated by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections. The prison is the largest maximum security prison in the US with 5,000 inmates and 1,800 staff members. It is located on an 18,000 acre property that was previously the Angola and other plantations owned by Isaac Franklin in West Feliciana Parish, close to the Mississippi border.
