Audubon Zoo - , Baton Rouge Zoo, The Audubon Zoo is a zoo that is situated in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is part of the Audubon Nature Institute which also manages the Aquarium of the Americas. The zoo covers 58 acres and is home to 2,000 animals. The zoo is located in a section of Audubon Park in Uptown New Orleans, on the Mississippi River side of Magazine Street. Destrehan Plantation - Destrehan, Destrehan Plantation is an antebellum Greek Revival house located near Destrehan, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. In the nineteenth century, the house was the center of a bustling slave plantation that produced sugar for export. The site hosted the notorious St. Charles Parish Tribunal, which executed 18 of the slaves involved in the 1811 German Coast Uprising, the largest slave revolt in American history.
