Apple River Fort - , Elizabeth, Apple River Fort, today known as Apple River Fort State Historic Site, was one of many frontier forts hastily completed by settlers in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin following the onset of the 1832 Black Hawk War. Located in present-day Elizabeth, Illinois, the fort at the Apple River settlement was built in less than a week. It was one of the few forts attacked during the war and the only one attacked by a band led by Black Hawk himself.

Birthplace of Ronald Reagan - , Tampico, The Birthplace of Ronald Reagan, which is also referred to as the Graham Building, is located in an apartment on the second floor of a late 19th century commercial building in Tampico, Illinois. The building was built in 1896 and housed a tavern from that time until 1915. On February 6, 1911 the 40th President of the United States, Ronald Reagan, was born in the apartment above the tavern. The Reagans would move out of the apartment and into a house in Tampico a few months after Ronald was born.

Black Hawk State Historic Site - , Rock Island, The Black Hawk State Historic Site, in Rock Island, Illinois, occupies much of the historic site of the village of Saukenuk, the home of a band of Native Americans of the Sauk nation. It includes the John Hauberg Museum of Native American Life. The state park is located on a 150-foot bluff overlooking the Rock River in western Illinois. It is most famous for being the birth place of the Sauk warrior Black Hawk.

The Homestead is located in the broad valley of the Wapsipinicon River Vally south of McCausland, Iowa in rural Scott County. The farmhouse was built in 1847 by Isaac Cody, Buffalo Bill's father, of native limestone and contains walnut floors and trim.
