Conquistador Golf Course - Cortez, The Conquistador Golf Course is an 18 hole public golf course in Montezuma County Colorado. Built in 1963, this Cortez course designed by Press Maxwell is open mar 1 to nov 15. Tee times are accepted up to 3 days in advance and the pro shop phone number for reservations is 970-565-9208. The golf course dress code is as follows: Shirt and shoes required.

Mesa Verde National Park - Mesa Verde National Park is a U.S. National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Montezuma County, Colorado. It was created in 1906 to protect some of the best preserved cliff dwellings in the world. The park occupies 81.4 square miles near the Four Corners and features numerous ruins of homes and villages built by the Ancestral Puebloan people, sometimes called the Anasazi. The Ancestral Puebloans made these stone villages their home in the 13th century, however, the first Ancestral Puebloans settled in Mesa Verde over 600 years before the cliff dwellings were ever built.
