C. M. Goethe Arboretum - , State University, The Charles M. Goethe Arboretum, established in 1959, is a botanical garden situated on the north end of the Sacramento State University campus, at 6000 J Street, Sacramento, California. The arboretum was named in honor of Charles Goethe, a land developer, philanthropist, conservationist, eugenicist and one of the university’s founding fathers. The Goethe Arboretum began with only 45 trees, and over the years has grown into a three acre, with over 600 types of trees, shrubs, and flowers.

Mount Shasta Ski Park - Mount Shasta, Mount Shasta Ski Park is a ski resort that is situated in northern California, just east of Interstate 5 along SR 89 between the city of Mount Shasta and the town of McCloud. The ski area lies about 6 mi south of the summit of 14,162 ft Mount Shasta, the second highest volcano in the Cascade Range. It straddles several small volcanic buttes on the lower southern flanks of the massive stratovolcano, with chairlifts running to the top of the 6,567 ft, Douglas Butte, and the 6,150 ft Marmot Ridge.

Mt. Ashland - , Ashland, Mount Ashland ski area is located on 7,532-foot Mount Ashland and features 23 trails on 200 acres served by four lifts, in addition to chute skiing in a glacial cirque called The Bowl. The mountain receives over 300 inches of snow annually with a season from early December until mid-April. Half of the terrain is rated as advanced, and 15% is rated beginner.
