Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park - Petaluma, Rancho Petaluma Adobe is the name of a historic ranch house built from adobe bricks that was owned and constructed by General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, commandant of the Sonoma Pueblo from 1834 to 1857. It is the largest example of the Monterey Colonial style of architecture in the US. It has been preserved by the Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park as a California state and National Historic Landmark. The Rancho Petaluma Adobe is located on Adobe Road on the east side of present-day town of Petaluma, California.

Healdsburg California offers plenty of child-friendly bounty, from accommodations in a charming hotel (we stayed at the Hotel Healdsburg) to the welcoming vineyards themselves.

The main attraction was the Point Reyes National Sea Shore. Our goal was to visit the Lighthouse Visitor Center at the farthest tip of the park, but we made several stops enroute.

Shelter Cove is a short drive on a narrow road from Garberville and the 101 freeway and the luxurious, English manor style accommodations available there at the Benbow Hotel.
