West Virginia is a state located in the eastern United States. It is entirely located within the Appalachian Mountains and aptly named the "Mountain State". Charleston is the capital and the largest city in the state. The climate of West Virginia is humid subtropical.

West Virginia outdoor activities abound with the many state parks available. Among these is Babcock State Park with a beauty that’s rugged yet serene. Enjoy the lovely hiking trails, swimming and along with camping and horseback riding. Blackwater Falls State Park is another gorgeous and picture perfect spot to visit.

Among the many state forests available to visit in West Virginia is Greenbrier State Forest with miles of hiking or biking trails, cabins for lodging and campsites. West Virginia is truly "almost heaven"!

Cacapon Resort State Park - Berkeley Springs

The Cacapon Resort State Park is an 18 hole resort golf course in Morgan County West Virginia. Built in 1974, this Berkeley Springs course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. is open all year. Tee times are accepted up to 7 days in advance and the pro shop phone number for reservations is 304-258-1022. The golf course dress code is as follows: Shirt and shoes required.

Camden Park - Huntington

Camden Park is an amusement park that is situated in Huntington, West Virginia. The park first opened in 1903 as a picnic spot along the Camden Interstate Railway street car line between Huntington and Ashland, Kentucky. It is one of the last traditional parks of its kind which features several classic rides. The park features two of the three remaining roller coasters built by National Amusement Devices. The Big Dipper, a wooden roller coaster constructed in 1958, features the original Century Flyer cars complete with headlights and detail work.

It is that can be found on the rim of the Gauley River Canyon near Summersville, a town in Nicholas County, West Virginia. The 156-acre park features Patterson House Museum, three views of the Gauley River, hiking trails and picnic facilities. It is one of the oldest state parks in the US.

Cedar Creek State Park - Glenville

Cedar Creek State Park is sited on 2,588 acres in Gilmer County, located about 4 miles south of Glenville, West Virginia and about 25 miles west of Burnsville/Glenville exit of I-79. Two of the buildings at the park are historical restorations of West Virginia's pioneer days, including a log cabin now used as the campground check-in station, and the Pine Run One Room School, an old one-room schoolhouse complete with restored school desks and potbellied stove.

Originally completed in 1959 at the cost of $2.5 million, the Charleston Civic Center has undergone numerous renovations and expansions. The Charleston Civic Center currently consists of three main components: the Civic Center Coliseum, the Little Theater, and the Charleston Convention Center, also referred to as the Grand Hall.
