Vermont joined the United States as the fourteenth state, and the first outside the original Thirteen Colonies. It is the only New England state with no coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. When it joined the union, it was the first state to have abolished slavery. Home to over 400 lakes and ponds, Vermont has much to offer in watersports, fishing, an abundance of natural beauty, historic sites, bridges and shipwrecks. Its Lake Champlain is the sixth largest body of water in the United States and contains countless shipwrecks dating back to the 1700's. More than any other state, Vermont is also known for its covered bridges, a few of which are Shoreham Covered Railroad Bridge, Scott Covered Bridge and Hammond Covered Bridge. Vermont's Green Mountains support a dense boreal forest and are part of the Appalachian Mountains. With its significant historic sites, lovely state parks, resorts and numerous recreational activities, one can enjoy exploring this state's treasures time and again.

Bromley Mountain - Manchester Center
Bromley Mountain is a mountain in the Green Mountains of southern Vermont. It is located in Bennington County, seven miles to the east of Manchester, Vermont and just west of Peru, Vermont. It is a popular destination for such sports as skiing and snowboarding.

Burke Mountain - East Burke
Burke Mountain is a mountain located in the "Northeast Kingdom" of Vermont. The bulk of the mountain is in Caledonia County, but its southeast side is in Essex County. Like the town of Burke, the mountain is probably named after the British statesman, Edmund Burke. It is flanked to the east by Umpire Mountain.

Burlington - Burlington
Burlington is the largest city in the U.S. state of Vermont and the shire town of Chittenden County. Burlington lies 45 miles south of the U.S.-Canadian border and some 94 miles south of Montreal.

The Cedar Knoll Country Club is a 27 hole public golf course in Chittenden County Vermont. Built in 1998, this Hinesburg course is open apr 10 to oct 31. For tee time information call the pro shop at 802-482-3186. The golf course dress code is as follows: No dress code.

Colchester is a town in Chittenden County, Vermont. The population was 16,986 at the 2000 census. It is the fourth-largest municipality and second-largest town in Vermont by population.

Cornish Colony Museum - Windsor
The Cornish Colony Museum is a museum that is situated in Windsor, Vermont. It is an art museum and educational institution, dedicated to displaying and teaching about the creative individuals who lived and worked in the Cornish Art Colony. The Cornish Colony Museum is operated by The Cornish Colony Museum of Windsor Vermont, a 501(c)3 non-profit educational corporation.

ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center - Burlington
ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center, formerly the Lake Champlain Basin Science Center, is that can be found on the Burlington waterfront in northern Vermont. It is home to more than 70 species of fish, amphibians, invertebrates, and reptiles, major traveling exhibitions, and the multimedia Awesome Forces Theatre. The name ECHO represents the mission of the organization which is to “educate and delight” people of all ages about the Ecology, Culture, History and Opportunities for stewardship of the Lake Champlain Basin.
