Iowa known as America’s Heartland and also as the Food Capital of the World, has an economy founded on agriculture and farming. Iowa also offers visitors art galleries, museums, parks and historic sites. Take a beautiful and educational cruise on the Mississippi River; visit a petting zoo in Swan Lake Park, rent a cabin, and visit a farmstead museum. In Davenport you can visit a botanical recreation park with fountains, gardens and sculptures. An interesting place to visit is the Grotto of the Redemption located in West Bend, a Christian monument depicting scenes from the life of Christ set in fancy rocks, precious stones and fossils which covers an area about a city bloc.

Brenton Arboretum - Dallas Center
The Brenton Arboretum 121 acres is a new arboretum and botanical garden in early stages of development, located at 2629 Palo Circle, Dallas Center, Iowa in the US. The Arboretum aims to display all Iowa native trees and shrubs suitable to the site, as well as many other tree species which can grow in central Iowa, and currently contains over 1,500 trees and shrubs. The Brenton Arboretum is a non-profit organization and open to the public.

Brucemore - Cedar Rapids
Brucemore, a park-like, 26-acre estate in the heart of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is the site of a Queen Anne-style mansion, formal gardens, a children’s garden, night garden, pond, orchard, and woodland. Built between 1884 and 1886 by Caroline Sinclair, widow of pioneer industrialist T.M. Sinclair, Brucemore has been home to three prominent families who used the estate as a center for culture and the arts. Brucemore, whose name alludes to the Scottish moors of the second owner's ancestral home, is Iowa's only National Trust Historic Site and is preserved by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in co-stewardship with Brucemore, Inc.

Buffalo Bill Cody Homestead - Scott County
The Buffalo Bill Cody Homested is the boyhood home of Buffalo Bill Cody, a government Scout and Wild West Showman. The Homestead is located in the broad valley of the Wapsipinicon River Vally south of McCausland, Iowa in rural Scott County. The farmhouse was built in 1847 by Isaac Cody, Buffalo Bill's father, of native limestone and contains walnut floors and trim.
