Colorado is distinct for its gorgeous landscapes of mountains, canyons, rivers, and even desert lands. Here you can go rock-climbing, white water rafting, biking, skiing and snowboarding. One of the more famous skiing resort areas is Vail, which has its own airport. Echo Mountain Park, is the closest to Denver and Eldora Mountain Resort is the second closest. If you are interested in history then you can experience the earliest native residents at Mesa Verde National Park and Hovenweep National Monument to name just two. You can see and learn about the early natives of Colorado by visiting the many museums such as the Ute Indian Museum in Montrose, or take a drive down the Trail of the Ancients and explore the ruins of past dwellings. A famous amphitheater here is Red Rock Amphitheater near Morrison, Colorado, where open-air concerts are given in a truly unique setting since it is created by mother nature herself and therefore, unequalled anywhere.

Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site - La Junta
Bent's Old Fort is an 1833 fort located in Otero County in southeastern Colorado in the US. William and Charles Bent, along with Ceran St. Vrain, built the fort to trade with Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho Plains Indians and trappers for buffalo robes. For much of its 16-year history, the fort was the only major permanent settlement on the Santa Fe Trail between Missouri and the Mexican settlements. It was destroyed under mysterious circumstances in 1849.

The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens are the world's highest botanical garden, located at 183 Gore Creek Drive, Vail, Colorado in the US, at an 8,200 feet altitude in the Rocky Mountains. The Gardens are open to the public daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park -
Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is a United States national park that is situated in western Colorado, and managed by the National Park Service. There are two entrances to the park; the more-developed south rim entrance is located 15 miles east of Montrose, while the north rim entrance is located 11 miles south of Crawford and is closed in the winter. The park contains 12 miles of the 48-mile long canyon of the Gunnison river.
