The Air Power Park is an outdoor, roadside museum in Hampton, Virginia which recognizes Hampton's role in America's early space exploration and aircraft testing. The park is on a 15 acres plot and includes a children's playground. There is no inside museum or visitor center Several vintage aircraft and experimental space launch vehicles from the 1950s and 1960s are displayed out of doors.

The Beebe Ranch is a horse ranch located at 3062 Ridge Road, Chincoteague, Virginia that now contains a mini-museum. The museum focuses on Misty and her foal Stormy, two Chincoteague ponies featured in the books Misty of Chincoteague and Stormy, Misty's Foal by Marguerite Henry. Misty and Stormy resided at the Beebe Ranch and now their taxidermically preserved figures are displayed at the museum. Misty stayed in the house at the ranch during the Ash Wednesday Storm of 1962, a major nor'easter that struck the coast and became the basis for the book Stormy, Misty's Foal.

The NASA Visitor Center is a museum that is situated in Building J-17, Wallops Island, Virginia along Route 175. It contains exhibits highlighting past missions conducted at Wallops Flight Facility. The visitor center also provides information about current activities at Wallops Flight Facility, such as the sounding rockets, balloons and aircraft program. The outside grounds has rockets and aircraft used for space and aeronautical research including a full-scale four stage reentry vehicle used to study the earth's atmosphere.
