Texas is the largest state in the continental United States. Its three largest cities are Houston, San Antonio and Dallas.

In Houston you can visit the NASA’s Space Center and its many interactive exhibits, the Galleria which is the largest shopping center in Texas. Parks abound in Houston among which are Herman Park and Terry Hershey Park.

A famous spot to visit is The Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. Learn about the famous and fierce battle which took place there and was a key event in the Texas revolution.

In West Texas you will find the Guadalupe Mountains with its famous crest, Guadalupe Peak which hikers can climb and proceed from there to El Capitan Peak (not to be confused with El Capitan in Yosemite National Park) and which has been used as a landmark.

The central region of Texas is known as the "Hill Country". It is made of tall rugged hills which are made of granite and limestone. Among its most famous is "Enchanted Rock", a gigantic granite rock pink in color.

Last, but not least is "Palo Duro Canyon". The second largest canyon after the Grand Canyon is to be found in the Texas panhandle. It was said about it that "It is a burning, seething cauldron, filled with dramatic light and color."
