The Great State of North Carolina
North Carolina is located in the southeastern United States and borders the Pacific Ocean. It has a humid subtropical climate. Its largest city is Charlotte and is located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Appalachian Mountains. A few places of interest in Charlotte include the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Carolinas Aviation Museum and Mint Museum of Art which features art and design from around the world.
There are historic places to visit in North Carolina. Among these is Bennett Place in Durham, North Carolina, dating from the Civil War. Bald Head Lighthouse dating back to 1817 was used to direct vessels through a dangerous Longs shifting area of sandbanks.
Grandfather Mountain, in the Blue Ridge Mountains, draws visitors from everywhere. There are picnic areas, wildlife exhibits and hiking trails and stunning views to admire. There one can visit the mile high swinging bridge. The Cullasaja Falls in the Nantahal National Forest, are hard to reach, but well worth the try.
