New York City is the most populated city in the United States, with an astounding 8.39 million residents. It is also one of the most diverse cities worldwide in terms of both its people and its industries. Also known as the Big Apple, New York City is a very popular spot for tourism and experiences over 40 million visitors annually travelling from places all over the world. The largest nearby city to New York is Newark, approximately 11 miles from the city center.
