The John Brown Farm and Gravesite was the home and is the final resting place of abolitionist John Brown. It is located on John Brown Road in North Elba near Lake Placid, New York, where John Brown moved in 1849 to lead freed slaves in farming. In 1855, he moved to Kansas to support his sons' efforts to keep Kansas as a free-state under the popular sovereignty laws, leaving his wife and several of his children behind.

7Robert Louis Stevenson Memorial Cottage and Museum - Saranac Lake,
Stevenson Cottage is a historic cure cottage located at Saranac Lake, town of St. Armand in Essex County, New York. It was built between 1865 and 1866 and is a one and one half story, "L" shaped wood frame building on a fieldstone foundation with wood frame siding. Built as a residence, it was later adapted for use as a cure cottage. Author Robert Lewis Stevenson and his family occupied the west wing of the house from October 1887 to April 1888 while he was recovering from a lung ailment.

Titus Mountain or Titus as it is colloquially known, is a popular downhill ski area on a foothill of 2,204 feet Titusville Mountain, 7 miles south of the Village of Malone, in the Town of Malone, in Franklin County, New York. The area has a base elevation of 990 feet, summit elevation of 1,560 feet and a vertical drop of 570 feet. Titus is part of the Adirondack Mountains.
