Nebraska is to be found in the Great Plains and is a major farming and ranching state. Here you travel along the route taken by Lewis and Clark and follow in their trail along the eastern border of Nebraska through rich farming land and wooded bluffs. If you long to experience the cowboy life this is the place to do it as this is cowboy country! There are many ranches that take guests and give you the opportunity of experiencing the cowboy life first hand whether in driving cattle or mending a barn. You may even enjoy catching a rodeo show while you’re there. There is also plenty of hunting and fishing available and snapping beautiful photos of nature and wildlife. Along the Lincoln Highway Scenic and Historic Byway you will enjoy the view of the beautiful farmlands and get to sample the farmers’ markets stands and wineries along the way. You will want to experience firsthand the beauty of nature along the Western Trails Scenic & Historic Byway by stopping to admire Chimney Rock, a geological wonder which juts out along the prairie.
