The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, which is also referred to as the Saint Louis Cathedral or the New Cathedral, was completed in 1914 in St. Louis, Missouri, as the archdiocesan replacement for the Cathedral of St. Louis, King of France. Although workers began clearing ground for the building on May 1, 1907, dedication of the Cathedral and its first mass did not take place until October 18, 1914, when the superstructure was complete.
2Chaifetz Arena - Saint Louis University - , St. Louis,
Chaifetz Arena, that can be found on the campus of Saint Louis University, is a 10,600 seat multi-purpose arena in St. Louis, Missouri that began construction on August 28, 2006, and was completed in April 2008. In February 2007, Chicago-based businessman Richard A. Chaifetz, CEO of ComPsych Corporation and 1975 graduate of SLU, made a $12 million donation to the university, who named the arena in his honor.
