The Great State of Idaho
Idaho, well known for the "Idaho potatoes", is also a largely mountainous state and is known as the "gem state" because almost every known gem has been found there. Among the most famous gem is the Star Garnet (the only other place where that gem is found is in the Himalayan Mountains in India).
Idaho is land locked and borders six states and one Canadian province. However, because of the systems of dams on the Columbia River and the Snake River, this makes the city of Lewiston the farthest inland seaport on the west coast.
Idaho is both cosmopolitan and small town. Its history is derived from its native tribes and the famous Lewis and Clark expedition. It has magnificent scenery, is fun to explore and you’ll meet friendly people.
