Dahlonega Gold Museum Historic Site - Dahlonega, The Dahlonega Gold Museum Historic Site is a Georgia state historic site located in Dahlonega that commemorates America's first gold rush and the mining history of Lumpkin County. The museum is housed in the historic 1836 Lumpkin county courthouse, which is located in the center of the town square, and is the oldest surviving county courthouse in the state. The museum houses many artifacts from the gold rush of 1836, including gold nuggets, gold coins, and gold panning equipment, as well as an educational film and gift shop.

Fort Hollingsworth-White House - Alto, The Fort Hollingsworth-White House is a well-preserved example of an early frontier fort built in Alto, Georgia in the late 18th century. The fort was built around 1792 by Jacob Hollingsworth on newly opened lands resulting from treaties with the Cherokee nation, and was meant to protect the settlers in the area. The fort was adapted as a farm residence, principally by the White family, and has passed through generations of owners.
