Connecticut is located in the northeastern part of the United States. Because of its long coastline, the state enjoys a moderate weather.

Hartford, the capital of Connecticut, houses Antheneum Museum, which is the oldest art museum in the U.S. It contains important impressionist paintings from the French and American Schools. It also contains modern and contemporary art works including early American furniture.

In Hartford is to be found the oldest public park, the Bushnell Park. It encompasses a memorial arch called Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch. It was built in memory of the American Civil War heroes. Music events and festivals take place there every year.

There is plenty to do in Connecticut. In winter time Mohawk Mountain and Mount Southington offer several areas for skiing and other winter sports. If you enjoy hiking in the Appalachian Trails, Bear Mountain is Connecticut’s highest peak with breathtaking views from the summit. If water sports are desired along with beautiful scenery then the West Cornwall Covered Bridge, a national historic spot built over the Housatonic River, is the place to visit. There one can find ample opportunities for canoeing, and fishing.
