The Great State of Arizona

Arizona is located in the southwestern part of the United States and borders Mexico to the South. It has a desert climate with very hot summers and mild winters. However, in the northern part of the state the climate is cooler due to the mountains ranges with pine forests. The two largest cities in Arizona are Phoenix and Tucson.

Its most famous feature is the Grand Canyon which contains a gorge carved by the Colorado River. It is considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Most visits to the Park come through the South Rim. There is also a smaller access through the North Rim of the Canyon. There is approximately a five hour drive between one Rim and the other. The Canyon is rugged and reachable mostly through pack trails. One can visit the Grand Canyon by the Grand Canyon Railway, a 64-mile ride from Williams to the South Rim.

There are many other places to explore in Arizona including the desert which is rich with a variety of Cactus plants. Arizona also includes one of the best preserved meteorite craters.
