Massachusetts is located in the New England part of the Northeast United States. It borders the Atlantic Ocean and is rich in American history. Its capital and largest city is Boston, known as the "Cradle of Liberty" State. The towns in Massachusetts were settled by colonists from England.

Cape Cod is one of the best known and most popular places for tourism. It has a beautiful coastline and many sandy beaches easily accessible. It offers many outdoor activities among which are fishing, biking, and kayaking, golfing and fun shops to discover.

Martha’s Vineyard is another lovely place to visit. Since it is an island, it is only reachable by air or boat. It is a very popular tourist destination in the summer with ferries carrying visitors to and fro. Popular attractions in the summer include Martha’s Vineyard International Film Festival and the Grand Illumination in which cottages get adorned with Chinese and Japanese lanterns.

Nantucket, an island south of Cape Cod and known as the "Grey Lady" owing to the almost constant fog, is another popular summer tourist destination.
