Alabama is located in the southeastern part of the United States and is known as "the Heart of Dixie". Montgomery is the capital of Alabama and Birmingham is the most populated city. There are several state parks to explore and historic places to visit. Among these are Historic Blakeley State Park where there is a camping ground for primitive or RV camping. Gulf State Park also has camping grounds, fishing and natural trails and beautiful white sand beaches. Chewacla State Park has several hiking and biking trails to discover. Among the historic places to visit and admire are the Allen Grove plantation in Spring Hill, Faunsdale Plantation in Faunsdale and Bermuda Hill Plantation near Prarieville.

Alabama Adventure is an Alabama amusement park, located off Interstate 20/59 in Bessemer, just west of Birmingham and east of Tuscaloosa, . It is owned by Adrenaline Family Entertainment which also operates the Clementon Amusement Park in New Jersey.

Alabama Confederate Soldiers Home - Mountain Creek
The Alabama Confederate Soldiers Home was the official home for former soldiers of the Confederate States of America by the state of Alabama, located in what is now Confederate Memorial Park in Mountain Creek in Chilton County, Alabama.

Alabama Constitution Village - Huntsville
The Alabama Constitution Village is a historical open air museum in Huntsville, Alabama that reenacts life in 1819. The eight buildings include a law office, print shop, land surveyor's office, post office, cabinetmaker's shop and residence.

Alabama Department of Archives and History - Montgomery
The Alabama Department of Archives and History is the official repository of archival records for the U.S. state of Alabama. It was created by an act of the Alabama Legislature on February 27, 1901 with a primary mission of collecting and preserving artifacts relating to the history of the state. It was the first publicly funded, independent state archives agency in the US. It subsequently became a model for the establishment of archives in other states.

Alabama Governor's Mansion - Montgomery
The Alabama Governor's Mansion is the official residence of the Governor of Alabama and his or her family in the capital city of Montgomery, Alabama. The current Governor of Alabama, Bob Riley, and his wife, First Lady Patsy Riley, are the current residents. The original governor's mansion for Alabama was occupied from 1911 until 1950, when the current mansion was acquired. The current mansion was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 3, 1972, listed as Governor's Mansion.

Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo - Gulf Shores
The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo opened in June 1989 in Gulf Shores, Alabama as Zooland Animal Park. It is operated by the Zoo Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and relies on admissions, memberships and contributions for its funding. It was the basis of the Animal Planet show The Little Zoo That Could.

Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame - Birmingham
The Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame was founded in 1978, and opened a museum on September 18, 1993, with a mission "to foster, encourage, educate, and cultivate a general appreciation of the medium of jazz music as a legitimate, original and distinctive art form indigenous to America. Its mission is also to preserve a continued and sustained program of illuminating the contribution of the State of Alabama through its citizens, environment, demographics and lore, and perpetuating the heritage of jazz music.

Alabama Museum of Health Sciences - Birmingham
The Alabama Museum of the Health Sciences was opened and dedicated at the UAB campus in 1975. It was developed to display the health sciences in the areas of education, research, and practice in the U.S. with special emphasis on the state of Alabama and its contributors to the practice of medicine. It houses a combined collection of rare and important medical books and manuscripts—dating to the Middle Ages—and equipment, instruments, and objects from the health sciences.

Alabama Museum of Natural History - Tuscaloosa
The Alabama Museum of Natural History is the state's natural history museum, located in Smith Hall at the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa, . The oldest museum in the state, it was founded in 1831. The exhibits depict the natural diversity of Alabama from the Age of Dinosaurs, the Coal Age, and the Ice Age. Collections include items relating to geology, zoology, mineralogy, paleontology, ethnology, history, and photography.

Alabama Music Hall of Fame - Tuscumbia
The Alabama Music Hall of Fame, first conceived by the Muscle Shoals Music Association in the early 1980s, was created by the Alabama Music Hall of Fame Board, which then saw to its Phase One construction of a 12,500 sq ft after a state-wide referendum in 1987. It currently stands in the town of Tuscumbia, Alabama.
