It's an area specially designed for children two and under which means they won't get run over by the older kids. Just inside the entrance to the museum there's also a large train table that little ones love so that might be fun too. It looks like most of the birthday parties last about an hour and half and I think there would be plenty to keep a one-year old and friends occupied during that time.
